Chikara Delgado is a 17 year old Brazilian-Japanese teenager who lives in the Nagano prefecture with his family. He has always been passionate about solving crimes and mysteries, as well as learning about people; why they do things, why they think the way they do, etc. His dedication to this topic frequently offputs others who may attempt to form a connection with him. This increased isolation allowed him to hone his skills and knowledge to an even greater extent.
Perhaps this is one of the many reasons why Chikara has come to be known as the "Ultimate" Forensic Profiler in academic circles. However, to people who aren't familiar with his line of work, or are uncomfortable with it, he calls himself a "Rehabilitation Specialist," or someone who rehabilitates criminals.
Biography
Early Years
Chikara didn't have any "trauma", or at least, he wouldn't consider it to be trauma. His mom suffered from bipolar disorder, and although she tried to take care of him, due to her refusal of medication and seeking help, she wasn't the best. His DAD also tried to care for him, but his dad had ADHD and while on medication, he didn't seek enough help, and due to the impulsivity and executive dysfunction, he was never particularly capable of caring for chikara.
both of those factors caused chikara to develop anxious attachment, and also why chikara tries to blend in. because being noticed could mean another screaming match. At the same time, chikara desperately craved recognition and affection. The mix of both of those together is something that can be VERY dangerous in a killing game, because he has gotten very good at blending in. with the genetic predisposition of bipolar and ADHD, chikara is most likely able to have a more severe case of bipolar disorder and exhibit the criteria for borderline personality disorder.
General Personality
Chikara is super anxious, and his mental state greatly affects how he interacts with others and what others would consider to be his “personality.” Due to this, it’s difficult to get a solid handle on what he’s really like. Underneath all the layers of deceit and self-sabotage, he’s quiet. Scared. Fragile. He’s so terrified of messing up other people’s perceptions of him that he just..*doesn’t engage.*
- chikara has moments where he actually stands up for himself and is genuine ( on the bad end of the spectrum, he has moments where he lashes out super bad), but once he realizes he like shrinks into himself and is like "FUCK".
As a calculated individual, Chikara likes to know things in advance. He hates surprises, as they can mess up his whole routine for the day, or evenc for the week. He also enjoys being unnoticed, because it both causes him less stress and allows him to focus on his work more efectively. One of his favorite feelings is solving a particularly complicated puzzle or problem fast, especially if it's faster than someone else who is racing towards the same goal. It makes him feel truly proud of himself, something that can be rare. On the other hand, he loathes obstacles to his goals. This includes people who get in his way: if he is working towards something and you interrupt it, you're certainly on his bad side, and that's not a good place to be. Another thing he greatly dislikes is being told what to do- this is part of why he loathes traditional school so much, because almost the second when he reaches a flow state, it gets interrupted by useless demands from teachers.
Even with a personality others may find egocentric or offputting, nobody can deny his skill. Chikara is incredibly analytical, creative, and flexible, all of which are incredibly helpful when working on cases, uncovering mysteries, or even trying to solve a killing game. He's incredibly intelligent and truly enjoys helping others when he can. Despite this, he can be self-serving at times. A major internal conflict for Chikara has to do with striking a balance between his own goals, which he is very ambitious about, and his desires to help others. This can lead others to believing him to be self-serving. Another thing that Chikara struggles with is empathy- he often doesn't understand the feelings of others. Despite this, he does still care about what happens to other people and can logically understand why it is bad when negative things happen. Another flaw is his paranoia, exacerbated by mental illness. Paranoia is pretty self explanatory, but it unfortunately impacts every facet of his life.

Appearance
Chikara is short, around 5'3, with thin, chin-length and messy dark brown hair. It's eye color is a shade of lavender, and when manic, they are more pink (just for artistic effect.) He has thin freckles scattered around his nose bridge, cheeks, shoulders, and neck. His skin is melanated but ashy because he doesn't take care of himself. He has a LOT of scars, bruises, and marks across his body, mostly due to impulsive actions and self-harm, which is why he tends to wear “covering” clothes- he isn’t self-conscious, per se, but he would doesn’t have any tattoos, but his ears are pierced a couple of times on both sides. He doesn’t tend to wear anything in them though, and when he does he wears studs. He also has an austin bar piercing on his nose.
during manic episodes, he tends to put more effort into presenting himself- wearing lots of makeup, spending hours getting dressed and looking “normal.” During depressive episodes, he tends to not leave the house in the least, and when he does, he looks disgusting, in complete honesty. The longest he’s gone without showering has been nearly six months. He doesn’t expend much money on basic hygienic supplies, as he doesn’t use them much during depressive episodes. This means that when he is in a manic episode, he impulse buys a lot.

weakest dude ever. He gets sick so easily but he’s also really good at hiding it. He has a few comfort foods and sticks to eating those, only, when he eats at all. soooo unstable. When he has someone to cling to he’s just great (too great) but when he doesn’t he’s a pit of nothingness. The slightest things can screw up his whole life. Anxious attachment to humans overall, and also has sensory issues which can mess things up more. luckily has no allergies. dual diagnosis of bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder as well as depression and anxiety. not opposed to medication, but tends to either overmedicate or not medicate at all; he has dozens of prescriptions though, including but not limited to Zoloft, vitamin C medication, various anti-psychotics, and various antidepressants.

Chikara's full name is pronounced Chee-ka-ra Dew-GA-doo. His first name is Japanese, and his last name is Brazillian. This means that, while the name "Delgado" can be written in katakana as a Brazilian "loanword," it isn't "true" Japanese, and Chikara prefers writing his surname romanized. Chikara's first name hirigana is ちから, while the katakana is チカラ. In kanji, Chikara's first name is written as 周空. It can be written as the kanji for "everywhere" (周) and "loneliness" (空). In other words, Chikara's first name means "loneliness everywhere." The surname Delgado means "thin" in both Spanish and Portuguese, and it's from the Latin word "delicatus" which means delicate, tender, or charming. Furthermore, in Brazillian Portuguese, the last name Delgado is pronounced Dew-GA-doo.
